Mess Stimulates Independent Thinking

There have been articles in the news lately that explore the benefits of living and working in a messy area. The results were very interesting.

It is believed the working in a messy environment can really help stimulate original thoughts. This could be a mathematician working on a difficult equation or an artist who is coming up with the next Mona Lisa.

Many professors seem to carry this trait. Rather than using filing cabinets to sort their thoughts, they use their own filing system that involves stacking rows and rows of papers in areas. Although it would be impossible for anyone else to sort through it. The professors can quickly find exactly what they were looking for because they filed it according to how their brain dictated it.

Another interesting fact is that children need to be messy. Naturally, this is all children want to do. We, as adults, should help our children with this natural occurrence and allow them to dictate the cleanliness of their space. We want them to develop to their full potential and theory has it that this will help.
